If too many failures happen in a row, a forced autosave will happen when the operation is finished. However, this does requires a state of quiescence to successfully complete the save.

Use the regular Save command. Don't leave dialogs open unnecessarily for example, editing an Extrude command. For example, do not leave a command window open such as Fillet, then go take a break. The manual recovery can only be applied for Fusion designs with no linked components.
